Here’s a lawsuit that we promise you is far different from the rest…

According to The Fashion Law, a former Roman Catholic monk has filed a federal lawsuit against L’Oreal. Β Allegedly, the huge cosmetics brand’s anti-aging wrinkle cream is a complete infringement of the monk’s patented technology!

Didn’t see that one coming, did you?

Apparently, Dennis Wyrzykowski formed a company, Carmel Laboratories LLC, and together with the University of Massachusetts Medical School, developed the technology. The patent was exclusively licensed it to Carmel Laboratories LLC in 2009, meaning that L’Oreal, even if it came upon the technology and was given the invitation to use it, would not have been able to due to given this agreement.

The bigger difficulty here for Dennis, however, if proving that this anti-aging cream is in fact the same cream that he developed and is patent protected. Or rather, is this just a trade secret of the business that was accidentally exposed and is now facing the consequences.

We’ll make sure to keep you in the loop regarding this veryΒ (L’O)real lawsuit.
