As we begin stepping into a new year, every fashion lover starts to consider new trends. Currently, it seems as though a perfect smile is the biggest craze. In 2016, the global teeth whitening products market was valued at an astounding $5.56 billion, and this number is expected to reach $7.4 billion by 2024.
As more and more people strive to make their smiles more perfect, cosmetic dentists are seeing an increase in requests for in-office bleaching procedures and more permanent solutions such as veneers.
This is a growing trend that cosmetic dentists can capitalize on and they are, in fact, doing so.
Dr. John A. Moore, founder of Cosmetic Dental Associates, states, “There will be at least a 20% growth in the demand for cosmetic procedures in the next 7 years; I’ve seen a remarkable increase in requests for whitening procedures already in my office – this is an area for rapid expansion in dentistry.”
Furthermore, a recent study found that this fast growth is driven by mounting consumer demand for clean and white teeth, along with a rising awareness of oral hygiene: 99.2% of people believe that a smile is an important social benefit.
