The fast fashion phenomenon continues to gain popularity, despite the several downfalls we have already told you about.

Brands such as Boohoo and ASOS are seeing increases in not only their sales, but also their social media popularity.

However, there seems to be a new fast fashion retailer in town, and it has been slowly creeping up on already established brands.

Certain celebrities who have, regretfully, been given too much influential power – Kylie Jenner being a prime example – have endorsed PrettyLittleThing. As such, the retailer saw a jaw-dropping 663% rise in the number of visits to their online presence. Yes, you read that right.

More and more, consumers are turning to Instagram to get fashion inspiration, but what they don’t realize is that the pressure this creates on them is subtle, but dangerous.

The influence that celebrities have is beyond powerful, and wanting to obtain their look without going bankrupt forces many consumers to turn to fast fashion retailers, without fully considering what these brands stand for.
