We love talking about fashion, but we especially love talking about fashion when it’s for a good cause.
Fashion Takes Action is a Toronto-based non-profit that encourages consumers to change the way they wear clothes. Founded by Kelly Brennan, sustainability is the most important factor of the brand.
The company’s goal is to let people know about the environmental and social impact of fast fashion (ahemmm, Zara, Forever21, H&M, Topshop etc. etc. etc.). They do this by promoting the usage of sustainable fabrics to consumers, but also reach out to fashion entrepreneurs to educate them on the issues of producing items unethically.
Even better, the company gives tips to consumers on how to make simple lifestyle changes that can make a world of difference in the fashion industry. One example being buying vintage (and if you haven’t checked out our FAVOURITE vintage shop, give That Vintage Place a look!).
Now that’s a #GirlBoss… Nasty Gal, take note!
