Magical Greece

When we were travelling to Greece, we knew it was going to be wonderful. In reality, it was even better than expected. So, to show you just how much we appreciate you, we have compiled a list of everything you MUST do if (or better yet, when) you go there. We know that you’ve most likely heard about the common attractions, like the Acropolis and the Parthenon, which is why our list contains new and unprecedented points of interest.

Version 2

We hopped right off the plane and treated ourselves to a traditional Greek dish. The souvlaki in Greece is probably one of our favourites meals…we’re contemplating going back just for another bite. Yes, it’s THAT good!

In Athens, you MUST take advantage of the carriage rides to be able to see the city centre in an easy and chic way. Don’t worry, we spoke extensively with the man operating this vehicle and we made certain that the horses were not being hurt. Yagos the Horse (as photographed here) is happy and healthy!

Don’t forget to stop for a delicious cup of Greek coffee…it’s the European way! For all of our caffeine lovers, Greek coffee will be your new favourite beverage, trust us!

If you want to feel like a local, we would recommend travelling to Rethymno, which is the capital of the island of Crete. Once you’re there, make sure to enjoy their tasty signature seafood on the docks. It is made fresh and will certainly satisfy those taste buds.

And of course, Oia in Santorini is a must. In fact, it is our happy place. Never have we seen such a perfect pairing of the colours white and blue. Also, make sure to check out Santo Wines for an evening of wine tasting, while looking at a breathtaking view.

Last but certainly not least, don’t forget to try the Greek salad! We know this may be an obvious one, but it was so good we just had to mention it.

We would highly recommend travelling to Greece between May and June, or August to October. Not only is it low season, which means less tourists, but the weather is still warm and sunny. What more could you ask for?

Greece, we will be back.
